blue jean baby

(gap mid-rise skinny jeans, nordstrom rack top, hat cost plus,)
Today is the day! The very first day of February and the first day of the instagram fashion challenge! If you don't remember what the prompt was for each day you can see it here, or follow me on instagram. I love jeans, especially these which are perfectly warn in and slouchy in all the right places. These are fun to pair with just about anything but I especially love putting them with my cut off cowboy boots and an easy breezy top. The hat (which was a total steal at cost plus of all places) was a fun addition and gives it some playfulness. I hope this inspires you to have fun with your closet!

stitch fix

I'm a woman who loves new ideas. I'm also a woman who loves to shop. Seriously. Not the, "yeah I'll go out for a few hours and see if I can find anything" shopper, like plan your outfit to be the best for taking on and off, bring your spanx and a list on your phone of things you are seeking out, 10 hour shopping trip, kind of shopping. I ADORE it.  So, while I was pinkifying my client's hair yesterday, (hi kelly!) she was telling me about a website that I had never heard of. And, since it is the newest of new ideas and involves clothing and shopping (though you aren't doing the actual shopping), I am going to share it with you so that you too may have the glory of a good find, even if you aren't a 10 hour day shopper like me. NOW here it is! It's called stitch fixIt's a personal styling service, which basically means that you sign up, answer questions about your style/clothing sizes, and BANG! they send you personalized pieces of clothing and jewelry you get to try on in the comfort of your own home! There is a $20 fee per month, but if you keep something it goes towards the clothes. And, if you buy all 5 items they send you, you get 25% off your entire order. How fun is that?! Also, if you don't like any of it, you can send it back easily with free shipping. The questionnaire is pretty thorough and even asked me for a link to one of my style pinterest boards. I'm so excited to get mine and can't wait to report back on how they did. Let me know if you end up signing up as well, so I can hear about your experience! Oh, and one last thing, they do give me credit if you put in this little code:(https://www.stitchfix.com/referral/3428961) when you sign up. So, since I love shopping and free things, I will shamelessly ask you to do this for me. Thanks loves!

Welcome to glitterlocks!

I'm so excited for this first blog post and for many more to come. This very first post is to get you amped up for my February instagram challenge! Now, for those of you who don't know what an instargam challenge is, don't worry! It's super easy and it will be fun, I promise. For each day in February you will have a prompt that should inspire your outfit/shoes/makeup/state of mind for that day. Then, you take a selfie (or sometimes, in my case, I force my 7 year old son to take them, I know, child labor laws are not in effect at our house) and post it to instagram with the hashtag #dyttype1febfun. When you want to see what everyone else has posted for that day, you click on the hashtag link (it should be illuminated in blue on instagram) and you can comment and encourage others in their fashion challenge-ness! You can follow me on instagram here if you would like, and you can share this with anyone you think would like to see or join in the fun! Now you might be wondering what in the world the hashtag #dyttype1febfun means. I'll give you a short version for now, but I plan on doing a post in the future about dyt, or dressing your truth. And no, I do not work for nor get paid in any way to endorse it. It just think it's pretty dang cool, and since I found out that I am a type 1, I'm all about it! SO, if that whets your appetite, you can find out what type you are here. Here are the challenge prompts, have fun!
